ABATACEPT

Abatacept belongs to the biothérapieque arsenal is a selective immunosuppressor manufactured by the Bristol-Myers Squibb laboratories. Orencia (monoclonal antibody) is the trade name of the molecule which is primarily used polyarthritis rhumatoïde when the other drugs did not give convincing results (méthotrexate and other anti TNF alpha).

The side effects are above all the reactions at the point of injection.
The other side effects are:

* Nauseas
* Tire.
* Dizzy spells.
* Hyperthermia.
* Diarrheas.
* Thoracic pain.
* Headaches.
* Giddinesses.
* Abdominal pains.
* Puffs of heat.
* Various infections (influenza, herpes, respiratory tracts, sinusitises etc).
* Allergies (delayed over-sensitiveness).
* Cutaneous eruptions.
* Prurit (itchings).
* Perspiration (excess of sudation) or on the contrary dryness of the skin.
* Delay of cicatrization.
* Rise in hepatic transaminases.

This drug is contra-indicated when a patient presents an allergy to the one of the components of the product or when it presents an infection and in the child.
This drug is also contra-indicated during the pregnancy and breast feeding. This is why a contraceptive is ordered during the treatment and during the six months which follows this one

Abatacept should not be associated with different the anti TNF alpha and with will anakinra.
