ACTIFED Compressed COLD Box of 15
Therapeutic class: Otorhinolaryngology
Active ingredients: Paracetamol, Pseudoéphédrine, Triprolidine

Indications
Treatment during the colds of the adult (as from 15 years):
- feelings of stopped nose,
- nasal flow clearly,
- headaches and/or fever.
Posology
Oral way.
RESERVE WITH THE ADULT (FROM 15 YEARS).
- 1 compressed to renew if necessary at the end of 6 a.m. minimum, without exceeding 3 compressed per day.
- The tablet is to be swallowed such as it is with a drink (for example water, milk, fruit juice).
- The maximum duration of the treatment is 5 days.
- Impaired renal function:
In the event of severe impaired renal function (clearance with creatinin lower than 10 ml/min), the interval between 2 catches will be at least 8 a.m. The paracetamol amount will not have to exceed 3 G per day.
Against indications
CONTRA-INDICATE:
This drug is contra-indicated in the following situations:
- In the event of over-sensitiveness with the one of the components of the product.
- In the child of less than 15 years.
- In the event of arterial hypertension severe or badly balanced by the treatment.
- In the event of antecedents of cerebral vascular accident or risk factors likely to support occurred of stroke, because of the sympathomimetic activity alpha of the vasoconstrictor.
- In the event of severe coronary insufficiency.
- In the event of risk of glaucome per closing of the angle.
- In the event of risk of urinary retention related to hoop nets uretroprostatic.
- In the event of antecedents of convulsions.
- In the event of hépatocellulaire insufficiency because of the presence of paracetamol.
- In the event of breast feeding: the pseudoéphédrine passes in the mother’s milk. Taking into account the possible cardiovascular and neurological effects of the vasoconstricteurs, the catch of this drug is contra-indicated during breast feeding.
- In partnership with other the sympathomimetic indirect ones (éphédrine, méthylphénidate, phényléphrine), with the nonselective IMAO (iproniazid, nialamide), with sympathomimetic alpha (ways oral and/or nasal) (étiléfrine, midodrine, naphazoline, oxymétazoline, phényléphrine, synéphrine, tétryzoline, tuaminoheptane, tymazoline) (see heading interactions).
DISADVISE:
- This drug SHOULD NOT GENERALLY BE USES during the pregnancy: there are no reliable data of teratogenesis in the animal. In private clinic, the epidemiological studies did not highlight of malformatif effect related to the use of the pseudoéphédrine. However, as a safety measure and taking into account the powerful properties vasoconstrictrices of this drug, its use is disadvised during the pregnancy.
- The concomitant catch of this drug with the selective IMAO-A (moclobémide, toloxatone), the linézolide, alkaloids of the dopaminergique the rye pin (bromocriptine, cabergoline, lisuride, pergolide), the alkaloids of the rye pin vasoconstricteurs (dihydroergotamine, ergotamine, méthylergométrine, méthysergide) is disadvised (see heading interactions).
- The catch of alcoholic drinks or drugs containing of alcohol during the treatment is disadvised (see chapter interactions).
Undesirable effects
Reactions of over-sensitiveness related to the one of the components of this drug.
DREGS WITH THE PRESENCE OF PSEUDOEPHEDRINE:
. cephalgias,
. palpitations, tachycardia, hypertensive push,
. sweats,
. crisis of glaucome per closing of the angle,
. urinary disorders (dysurie, retention), in particular in the event of hoop nets uretroprostatic,
. anxiety, insomnia,
. oral dryness, nauseas, vomiting.
- Were described, in particular in the child after administration of vasoconstricteurs:
. convulsions,
. hallucinations,
. agitation, behavioral problems and insomnia.
- A fever, an overdose, a medicamentous association likely to decrease the threshold epileptogene or to contribute to an overdose were often found and seem to predispose with occurred of these effects (see chapters counter-indications, warning statements).
- Exceptionally, of the hemorrhagic cerebral vascular accidents occurred among patients having used specialities containing of the pseudoéphédrine. These cerebral vascular accidents in particular occurred in the event of overdose, of mésusage and/or at patients presenting of the vascular risk factors.
DREGS WITH THE PRESENCE OF PARACETAMOL:
- some rare cases of reactions of anaphylactic over-sensitiveness to type of shock, edema of Quincke, cutaneous erythema, urticaria, rash were reported. Their occurred the final adoption of this drug and the related drugs imposes.
- very exceptional cases of thrombopénie, leucopenia and neutropenia were announced.
DREGS WITH THE PRESENCE OF TRIPROLIDINE:
The pharmacological characteristics of the triprolidine are at the origin of undesirable effects of unequal intensity and related or not to the amount (see pharmacodynamic properties):
- Neurovégétatifs Effects:
. sedation or somnolence, more marked at the beginning of treatment,
. orthostatic hypotension,
. dryness of the mucous membranes, constipation, disorders of accommodation, mydriase, palpitations, disorders urinary (dysurie, retention),
. disorders of balance, giddinesses, lowers memory or concentration, more frequent at the old subject,
. driving incoordination, tremors,
. mental confusion, hallucinations,
. more rarely, of the effects are with type of excitation: agitation, nervousness, insomnia.
- Reactions of over-sensitiveness:
. erythemas, eczema, will purpura, urticaria,
. edema, more rarely edema of Quincke,
. shock anaphylactic.
- Hematologic Effects:
. leucopenia, neutropenia,
. thrombocytopenia,
. weakens haemolytic.
