Indications
- This drug contains two active ingredients: the cétirizine (antihistamine of second generation) and the pseudoéphédrine (relieving congestion nasal).
- It is indicated in the adult of more than 15 years in the allergic demonstrations with nasal congestion.
- Treatment of the symptoms of the seasonal allergic rhinitides (hay cold) or not seasonal (hairs of animals, moulds, acarina…) associated or not with an allergic conjunctivitis: nasal congestion, nasal flow clearly, sneezes with repetition, prurit (itchings) nasal and/or ocular.
Posology
RESERVE WITH THE ADULT (FROM 15 YEARS).
Posology:
A tablet twice a day (morning and evening), with the course or apart from the meals. The tablets must be swallowed in entirety using a water little and do not have to be crunched.
Duration of the treatment:
- The treatment should not exceed 5 days.
- Once symptoms of the allergic rhinitis relieved, to take over assumption of responsibility of the allergic conjunctivitis by a treatment more adapted.
- Among patients presenting a light impaired renal function to moderate, posology will be reduced to a tablet per day.
Against indications
CONTRA-INDICATE:
- ACTIFEDDUO ALLERGIC LP RHINITIS is contra-indicated:
. in the children of less than 15 years,
. in the event of over-sensitiveness with the one of the components of the product,
. in the event of severe or badly controlled arterial hypertension,
. in the event of antecedents of cerebral vascular accidents severe or risk factors likely to support a stroke due to the sympathomimetic activity alpha of the vasoconstrictor,
. in partnership with vasoconstricteurs such as the bromocriptine, the pergolide, the lisuride, the cabergoline, the ergotamine, dihydroergotamine), or with another relieving congestion nasal that it is managed by oral or nasal way (phénylpropanolamine, phényléphrine, éphédrine…),
. in partnership with the méthylphénidate,
. in partnership with inhibiters of mono-amine-oxydase (IMAO) nonselective (iproniazid),
. in the event of severe coronary insufficiency,
. in the event of risk of glaucome per closing of the angle,
. in the event of antecedents of urinary retention due to hoop nets uretroprostatic,
. in the event of antecedents of convulsions,
. in the event of breast feeding: the pseudoéphédrine passes in the mother’s milk. Taking into account the possible cardiovascular and neurological effects of the vasoconstricteurs, the catch of this drug is contra-indicated during breast feeding,
. in the event of deterioration of the renal function due to the presence of cétirizine.
- Because of the presence of lactose, this drug is contra-indicated in the event of congenital galactosemy, of syndrome of malabsorption of glucose and galactose or of lactase deficit.
DISADVISE:
This drug SHOULD NOT GENERALLY BE USES during the pregnancy: for the pseudoéphédrine: there are no reliable data of teratogenesis in the animal. In private clinic, the epidemiological studies did not highlight of malformatif effect related to the use of the pseudoéphédrine. However, as a safety measure and taking into account the powerful vasoconstrictives properties of this drug, its use is disadvised during the pregnancy.
Undesirable effects
Reactions of over-sensitiveness associated with the one of the components with this drug.
REACTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRESENCE WITH THE PSEUDOEPHEDRINE:
. cephalgias,
. hypertensives palpitations, tachycardia, pushes,
. sweat,
. crisis of glaucome per closing of the angle,
. urinary disorders (dysurie, retention) in particular among patients presenting of the hoop nets uretroprostatic,
. anxiety, insomnia,
. stop dries, nauseas, vomiting.
- Were described, in particular in the child after administration of vasoconstricteurs:
. convulsions,
. hallucinations,
. agitation, behavioral problems and insomnia.
- A fever, an overdose, a medicamentous association likely to lower the threshold epileptogene or to contribute to an overdose were often found and seem to predispose with occurred of these effects (see headings counter-indications and warning statements).
- Exceptionally, of the hemorrhagic cerebral vascular accidents occurred among patients having used specialities containing of the pseudoéphédrine. These cerebral vascular accidents in particular occurred in the event of overdose, of mésusage and/or at the patients presenting of the risk factors vascular.
REACTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRESENCE WITH THE CETIRIZINE:
- possibility of digestive disorders, stops dries, giddinesses,
- exceptionally, were described cases of reactions allergic to type of cutaneous reactions and edema of Quincke,
- rare cases of somnolence were reported at certain sensitive topics, appearing at the beginning of the treatment.
