Allergies and asthma
Hay cold
You undoubtedly know the term “hay cold”, but there are not only the hays which cause the seasonal allergies, also known under the name of allergic rhinitis. In spring, when the trees and the grasses start to push, they produce a light and powdery pollen which floats with the liking of the wind. If you are allergic to this pollen, you could present the following symptoms: reniflements, sneezes, whistling breathing, nasal flow, irritation of the eyes and whimpering.
The factors being able to start an allergy vary according to the period of the year. At the end of the summer and at the beginning of the autumn, the pollen of bad grasses, particularly that of grass with lice, and the fungic spores are the principal culprits. The allergens specific to the environment also vary according to the geographical area.
How thus to benefit from the activities of outdoor without suffering from these unpleasant symptoms? Here some small councils:
maintain the windows closed so that pollen cannot penetrate. In hot and wet weather, air-conditioning will increase your comfort. But do not forget that the air-conditioners are also at the origin of the growth of moulds inside the house. Made a great spring-cleaning, and ensure the follow-up;
remain inside when the level of pollen is high (supervise the weather reports) and during the days when the wind can disperse pollen and the spores. Avoid leaving the morning (between 5 and 10 hours), because it is the moment when the level of pollen is generally highest;
do not put your linen to be dried outside. The pollen and of the moulds can adhere and penetrate to it then inside the house. Use the steam drier preferably.
