Are the aluminum salts contained in practically all the déos antitranspirants related to the appearance of breast cancers? The question haunts thousands of women since 2004. However, scientifically, the bond is not proven.

The majority of the deodorants use aluminum salts

Since their appearance, the deodorants antitranspirants very quickly obtained an enormous success on the market of the cosmetics, because they are more effective than the deodorants which existed before. The large majority of these antitranspirants contain aluminum salts, which make it possible to block perspiration; but for several years of the consumers have chosen to happen some. They are certain that aluminum salts which are contained in the large majority of the déos antitranspirants support occurred of breast cancers.

No the scientific bond between déos and breast cancers

However, the scientists always said that there was no serious bond between the aluminum contained in the deodorants and breast cancer. And several manners! Initially, no statistical research forever shown that breast cancers were more frequent among women who use déos containing aluminum salts. Then, the natural operation of the body does not encourage to think that a product could go from the armpits towards the center: lymphatic circulation goes indeed rather since the center towards the armpit!

Is aluminum bad for health?

If the idea of a danger persists since so a long time, it is perhaps because aluminum was classified as carcinogenic for the people who are exposed there by their work. However, the amounts to which we are exposed the every day – including if one uses déos containing aluminum – are insufficient to pose problem. More especially as in fact the large aluminum particles are dangerous, whereas to be sold legally in the European Union, the déos should contain only small particles.

The choice of déos without aluminum

Even when one can that there is no scientific bond between déos containing aluminum and breast cancer, quite simply choose a deodorant which does not contain any can be an option, because aluminum salts are an artificial product moreover, which we do not need inevitably – perspiration varies from one individual to another. There exists today, for those which make the choice of them, of the deodorants without aluminum salts which do their work just as easily!
