Food allergies, another plate
The food allergies, fourth world public health problems, touch, in France, nearly 4% to the adults and 8% of the children. All the food is likely to cause an allergy. How to eat without causing secondary reactions, energy of a small redness to a severe allergic answer?
Hippocrates recognized, as of Ve century before Jesus-Christ, that the cow’s milk could cause digestive disorders and urticaria. 90% of the known food allergies in Europe are started by the groundnut (peanut), milk or the dairy products, the eggs, the fish, the shellfish, soya, the corn, the hazel nuts, the nut or celery. The meats, the pork-butchery follow… The list is long. It is estimated that today in France, 3 to 10% of people are reached by it and the number of allergic children does not cease increasing. The prevention, the choice of the products makes it possible to live with these allergies.
Food allergy and intolerance
A food allergy is a reaction of immediate over-sensitiveness caused by ingestion of a food substance which includes also some food additives. New allergies appear or are in increase, those with the exotic fruits, spices and condiments, the sesame and sunflower oils, for example.
Prevention as of childhood
The best means of not having a food allergy is to avoid food responsible for this allergy whatever its form and its presentation, to especially take precautions as of more the young age for the people at the risk. Indeed, if the parents do not develop atopic demonstrations, the child has 10% of chance to be atopic, if one of the parents is, the child has 30% of chance to be it and if the two parents are it, the risk can approach the 60%!
It was noticed that when food diversification was done more tardily, especially with regard to certain food like the egg, cow’s milk, the ox, the chicken, the corn, in children at the risks and nursed with the mother’s milk during the first six months of their life, those presented definitely less atopic demonstrations.
Allergies, good food reflexes
Impossible to make confidence with food, the majority of them contain at the same time protective substances and others potentially dangerous. Some are however more likely than others to start undesirable reactions. Because there does not exist currently any curative treatment of the food allergies, the only solution consists in completely avoiding the substance allergen in question.
If it is difficult to speak about good food, some are less allergens than others. Among those which practically never pose problem, the rabbit and the sheep for the meats, rice, potato with water, the lenses, the fruits and vegetables cooked.
Those also which contain the probiotiques ones, these useful micro-organisms which colonize the intestinal and vaginal flora. By reinforcing the integrity of the intestine, they avoid food fragments crossing the intestinal mucous membrane to join blood and to start the allergic reaction or of intolerance. All fermented milks, including yoghourts and it to kéfir, but also sauerkraut, the miso (derivative of soya), the tempeh and the juice of oats contain lactic bacteria. The probiotiques ones also exist in supplementation in the form of gélules.
To also support the sources of vitamin C, the vitamin anti-allergy par excellence, present in the fruit and vegetables, in particular the citrus fruits, the strawberries, the cabbage…, the complete cereals, mineral water rich in magnesium (Contrex, Hepar, Badoit), seafood without forgetting that an allergy to oysters can be serious, fatty fish for their Omega 3 (salmon, herring, mackerel, sardine). The choice of the biological products, free from chemicals, decreases the food risks of allergies. To prefer fresh food is more than one good start in the fight against the allergies. Allergy to groundnut, councils prevention
The degree of removal of groundnut in the mode depends on the age, the history, the assessment of each allergic. A mode to be determined for each one with its doctor.
- Forget the peanuts, the peanut butter.
- Avoid the dishes fried in the restaurants, the products fast-food, the Asian cooked dishes, the dishes of the delicatessen, the creole dishes.
- Do not accept a dish when you are unaware of the exact composition of it.
- Refuse a dish in which one just removed you prohibited food.
- Read the labels, of groundnut seeds can hide in dairy produces with cereals, in cheeses with dry fruits, yoghourts with the muesli, in sausages, pies, cooked sauces all ready…
