Simple a patch diagnoses the allergy to the cow’s milk

The symptoms of the allergy to cow’s milk proteins not being often specific, the diagnosis is difficult. There exists from now on a test in the form of a patch that the parents can themselves apply to the back of their child. But attention, the reading of the result requires the competence of a doctor.

The allergy to cow’s milk proteins is most frequent

The food allergies are particularly frequent. They would have even doubled with the ten last years courses, affecting nearly 8% to the children and infants.
The allergy to cow’s milk proteins is most widespread of the food allergies in the infants. And this disease, person in charge of very diverse symptoms, has consequences painful and handicapping for the child and his family.
Let us stress that after the age of food diversification, the allergy to cow’s milk proteins is accompanied by other food allergies and that it reveals also an allergic ground which can be expressed later by respiratory symptoms, like rhinitides and asthma.

An allergy to the not very specific symptoms

One distinguishes two types of allergies to cow’s milk proteins. One is with reaction immediate, known as IgE médiée, appearing quickly after the ingestion (less than two hours afterwards: anaphylactic urticaria, edema, bronchospasme and seldom shock).
The other is said to delayed reaction, of IgE type not médiée. It is the most frequent form and most underhand because it appears by symptoms which are not specific: digestive disorders (colics, diarrheas, constipation…), delay of growth, eczema, sleep disorders, etc
The diagnosis is thus very difficult and the doctor often finds himself, in the absence of true proof, to propose a mode of ousting, constraining, not containing cow’s milk proteins.
