Desensitizing in practice

Desensitizing consists in administrating gradually increasing amounts of the allergen responsible for the allergic reactions, in order to induce a state of tolerance with respect to this one.
The injections are less and less used since the appearance of the sublingual form which consists in depositing directly under the language of the amounts of allergen.
The advantage is that the concentration of the amounts of allergen is more important, which makes it possible to very quickly reach the optimal amount (15 to 20 days). The side effects are rare, the treatment is done in residence and this technique is easily applicable to the young children.
